Look, if you want to get technical, (and I’m sure a few of you will), the countdown began months ago, when it was announced Wii will be launching on Australian shores on December 7th, 2006.

But I’m starting it today for two reasons.

1. I’m the one writing this article.

2. Today my Wii console has finally been paid off.

Yes, I can breathe easy, for now my very own Wii is all accounted for. I’m sure many of you paid your consoles off months ago. Or are you one of the confident few that believe they’ll be able to simply walk into a store and buy a Wii? I would advise against that.

Wii is a mere 6 days away from wowing the pants off consumers everywhere. In preparation, Nintendo have released a list of stores around Australia that will be having a midnight launch of the console, with some stores even offering prizes and competitions for those hardcore Nintendo fans.

I’ll be there at EB Elizabeth, picking up my Wii console and Twilight Princess (Wii) and then spending the next few days in hibernation, leaving only to review Wii games for Gamer Within.
