Nintendo to announce Wii release date – Through a DS game?
Take this with a grain of salt people. In fact, drive over to the salt mill and pick up a silo. Apparently, Nintendo is creating a DS game that will tell us the release date of the Wii. At first glance, this screams “classic” Nintendo, but take a closer look and you’ll see it comes across as pure speculation (to me anyway, although what do I know). If you’re skilled enough and are able to finish the game, you will, apparently, win the prize of the Nintendo Wii release date.
According to a statement released from an ‘unnamed Nintendo spokesperson’, players will be able to “shuffle through over 10,000 forum posts worth of conspiracy theories, as well as over 100,000 Sudoku games. Each completed task brings you one step closer to solving the mystery of the Nintendo Wii launch date. Oh, and it has Pokemon in it.” Does that sound like a statement from a professional company? Hold on, there’s more.
The spokesperson went on to add, “it really targets every demographic that Nintendo wants to capture. It has Sudoku for older audiences, Pokemon for younger audiences and it’s a mystery (clutching at straws Nintendo?), which appeals to the ever-elusive female demographic. Women like to solve murders. They also like to write murders.”
Well, make of that what you will. Nintendo has never been one to shy away from the different and obscure tactics of the video game world, and this is no exception. Hey, it might turn out to be true, I could be wrong. This just doesn’t seem to ‘gel’ like Nintendo usually does though. Good luck to them if it is. The ‘game’ is set to be released September 18.
